CTI_LOGO_large (1)UK Castings Technology International Ltd (Cti) successfully completed approvals process required to supply Titanium castings for use by the Norwegian offshore oil and gas industry. Approval means the UK-based specialist supplier of difficult to source, low volume, precision steel, superalloy and Titanium castings to the high value manufacturing sector can supply conventional and centrispun castings of any weight for use on rigs and under the sea.
Cti, based on South Yorkshire’s Advanced Manufacturing Park, is one of a limited number of companies in Europe with the capability and skills to cast highly reactive metals like Titanium, which is used in the North Sea for its high strength to weight ratio and corrosion resistance.

The company already supplies customers in the UK and European oil and gas industry with a range of Titanium castings, including flanges and valve bodies, made using either traditional gravity fed or centrispun technology, depending on the weight and complexity of the product. Its new approval, to the latest MDS T02 Rev 5 requirements for commercially pure Titanium within the Norwegian petroleum industry’s M-650 Rev 4 standard, supersedes its previous NORSOK Rev3 approval.
Cti currently can currently manufacture Titanium castings with a cast weight of up to 40.4kg, but is set to increase its capacity to 500kg.
