AIDA, a global presence in the production of cold sheet metal forming presses, will reserve a special welcome to all those who wish to visit its European production plant in Pavone Mella (BS) in the two weeks from 17 to 28 February 2025
During the last two weeks of February, AIDA will welcome and accompany people on a tour of its European production plant in Pavone Mella (BS) during the “Winter Days 2025” event. Now in its second edition, the event will focus mainly on the benefits of Servo technology and all the most innovative solutions developed by the group during 2024.
The Winter Days include a complete tour of the plant starting from the welding department, moving on to intermediate processes and arriving at the assembly, where it will be possible to attend live demonstrations of servo and mechanical presses of different tonnages and table sizes.
Presses to enable precision
AIDA presses are used to produce, amongst many, a vast range of products like automotive frames and components, electric motor sheets, applications parts and electronic components.
During the visits, special attention will be paid to the new solutions developed by AIDA group over the last year, including the new DSF-BE1 servo presses series. This technology is specifically designed for the high-precision forming of metal separators for bipolar plates used in fuel cells and electrolysers (water electrolysis devices). With an innovative 9-point support design, a high-rigidity frame, zero clearance guides and a large area to accommodate multi-stage forming, the DSF-BE1 series presses are characterized by extremely high production and quality standards.
Another pride of the European plant is the production department of the MSP series high-speed presses, the latest step in a multi-million-euro investment plan. This type of press enables the production of precision, high-value-added electric motors such as those intended for EV motors, HEV motors and motors for high-energy efficiency home appliances. The MSP Series was developed more than 20 years ago and, to date, it has more than 500 units worldwide. The MSP-4000-430 model was recently launched on the market, capable of accommodating dies up to 4,300 mm long, as recently requested for double-row production and, in some special cases, even triple-row production.
DSF-NE2 Series: a Made in Italy show-piece
The Winter Days will be the opportunity to see live and in operation, several presses of the DSF-NE2 Series, entirely engineered and produced in the Italian plant in the province of Brescia. On the market since the beginning of 2021, the DSF-NE2 Series consists of servo presses with a monolithic structure with 2 pressure points that combine the high rigidity of the monoblock frame with the flexibility of the fully programmable servo-assisted movement typical of AIDA DSF® technology.
The DSF-NE2 presses are equipped with high-torque and low-speed AIDA servomotors that offer unmatched performance in sheet metal stamping. Each component of the frame is designed and verified with FEM systems.
The Zero clearance roller guides do not require lubrication and contribute significantly to a longer life of the dies. Thanks to an innovative design and cutting-edge production features, this series offers low-noise, low-vibration and small-sized precision forming, optimizing all production and maintenance operations while ensuring maximum application flexibility and long life of components subject to natural wear. This press series, capable of speeds of 120 strokes per minute, expresses performances of absolute excellence. The DSF-NE2 was awarded product of the year in the “Stanz- und Umformtechnik” category at the EuroBLECH Awards 2022 in Hannover.
The Winter Days event will be the perfect auditorium to encourage networking between players in the sheet metal forming sector, especially at a time when it’s more necessary than ever to think and operate in an unconventional way to face an extremely challenging market.
